Grant Overview
The NBA Foundation rolling applications for 2024 ended on December 13th.
To create a more focused and streamlined process, the NBA Foundation has shifted from rolling applications to designated application cycles. The next application window is open from February 4 to March 14.

Grant Requirements
In order to be considered for a grant from the NBA Foundation, your organization must meet the following requirements:
- Be a registered 501(c)(3) (U.S.) or T3010 (Canada) nonprofit with a current IRS Form 990 or 990-EZ.
- Focus on college attainment, career readiness, job training, youth employment, school-to-career pathways, credentialing, entrepreneurship, or internships for Black youth (ages 14-24).
- Serve at least 25 youth annually.
The NBA Foundation generally does not fund:
- Programs outside the stated focus areas.
- Organizations outside the 28 NBA markets (full list here).
- Hospitals, schools (public/private), or child day-care/Pre-K programs.
- Programs primarily serving adults (25+) or children (under 14).
- Operating budgets or grant requests under $25,000.
- Direct donations, individual scholarships, or sponsorships.
- One-time events (galas, conferences, competitions, career fairs).
- Stand-alone basketball clinics.
- Capital campaigns or building-related projects.
- Political campaigns or lobbying efforts.

If your organization is interested in applying for a grant from the NBA Foundation, please take the following steps:
- Create an account on the grant application portal, FLUXX, using the link below
- Once your organization is registered, you will receive a confirmation email with credentials for login. We recommend you click this link within 48 hours as it will expire.
- Complete the grant application within the portal and provide a Form 990, current fiscal year organizational budget, project budget, and board list with your application
Once you submit your application, you will receive a confirmation email. The NBA Foundation will be touch with competitive organizations with additional questions and updates to the application.
